morning! last day of studying before the big exam tomorrow and saturday.

enjoying the pot of coffee before i head to the library!

studying doesn't get done at home... too many distractions and easy ways to take too many breaks and significantly longer breaks than i otherwise would.

John ~ we are going to be getting a new or "advanced" level ultrasound done in about two weeks. my brother in law works at GE medical and is hooking us up with their latest technology! our doctor was all for it and excited b/c he said there were only about two hospitals in milwaukee that could even afford it!

my wife has seen pics and they are soooooo neat! super clear. i'll share some of those when we get them.

oh ya... and maybe i'll set you up with the other pics you asked for too

So, are you getting the 3D ultrasound?

Qball1000r
03-17-2005, 05:00 AM
he tends to call it a 4-D technology, but yes, its 3-D pics and dvd video footage of the entire process! its new(er) and they have not been selling them for long, but he said there are hospitals that already have them.

i'm looking forward to it. he told us they have taken some really candid pics of some of his other friends "kids to be"

have you seen it damon? or been involved with it???

we're pretty excited... all new experiences for us!

the boy is definitely mine... when the lady wanted to determine the sex of the child she sent my wife to the bathroom seeing as she had been on a full bladder for far too long at that point.

she came back, the gal put the device on her tummy and within 5 seconds "BAM!" she freezes the screen... junior went a** up, and spread eagle, and there was our answer!

kid's already mooning the camera just like his old man

We didn't have the 3D ultrasound, just some high powered ones. Pretty good resolution. My son was born in November. We got some pretty good ultrasound pics. One of him sucking his thumb and of course a bunch of his huge hog...just like daddy.

When the Irish say that St. Patrick chased the snakes out of Ireland, what they don't tell you is that he was the only one who saw any snakes!
.
Michael Hoolihan was courting Frances Phelan. The young couple sat in the parlor of the girl's house night after night, much to the annoyance of old man Phelan. One night he couldn"t take any more. Standing at the top of the stairs, he yelled down, "What's that young fella doin' here all hours of the night?" "Why, Dad, " said Frances, "Michael was just telling me everything that's in his heart!" "Well, next time, " roared Phelan, "just let him tell you what's in his head, and it won't take half as long!"
.
O'Connell was staggering home with a small bottle in his back pocket when he slipped and fell heavily. Struggling to his feet, he felt something wet running
down his leg. "Please, God," he implored, "let it be blood!"
.
Why did God invent whiskey?
So the Irish would never rule the world.

Wife and I are having our second sonogram next Friday. We've been told that the 3-D is incredible. I've gotta see if I can get them to do one. Do they need to have certain justifications before insurance will pay for one?

Happy saint paddy's day everyone.

I am going to try and hit every irish bar in the minneapolis/saint paul area...but I can't drink in every one because unlike my Irish ancestors I cannot hold my liquor...Actually I really can't hold it because I get pretty buzzed up after a pint...

Anyways. Have a fun day.

I can't wait for both types of pics!

My sister had her ultrasound done, and admittedly, I couldn't see much until she pointed the body parts out.
So what is this 3D ultrasound really? Is it more clear? Better resolution so you can better see details??

Qball1000r
03-17-2005, 02:23 PM
i can't speak from what i've seen, but my wife has seen them and she says they are MUCH better than what you and i were looking at with normal ultrasounds.

admittingly, it took me a little while of watching the screen as the lady pointed things out before i came pretty proficient at figuring out what i was looking at on the screen. the pictures are a lot harder to figure out for those that haven't been staring at the screen to understand what the light and dark parts are.

the new technology is supposed to be much more clear on what's what. i guess we'll have to wait and see. :help:

So maybe you'll be able to see his "package" too, eh?

Just remember, if it looks real long, that's his umbilical (sp?) cord :ooo:

Qball1000r
03-17-2005, 03:08 PM
we've already seen his package!

and the gal operating the machine checked by blood flow and temperature so she knew it was his "package" for sure and not the umbilical cord.

like i said... he went spread eagle for the machine... there was no doubt on this one

later.
