CA Ticket Question

I got a ticket doing 88 in a 65, which was slightly over the flow of traffic, but I got hit when I was in a break in traffic so there weren't any cars around compare my speed to. Anyways, the CHP officer wrote me a ticket and I SIGNED for a court appearance that he wrote down as 7/4/04 (4th of July?!?!?). I noticed it when I got home and thought maybe the officer was in some way giving me a warning, something for me to think about but not a legit ticket. Well, about a week later I received a notice in the mail from the CHP for a court date correction, guess he had some brain fart and got the month and the day reversed so now the court appearance is for 4/7/04.
I was just wondering if there is anything I can do to get this thing thrown out because what I signed for in the red box where it says 'Without admitting guilt, I promise to appear at the time and place indicated below' was for Sunday the 4th of July. Any opinions on how to get out of this one???

It sounds like a minor error, but since they sent you a notice correcting the date, you're probably stuck. You may be able to contact the court to reschedule, but good luck. Dealing with court is a major pain in the butt.

Its not going to get the ticket thrown out but when you appear in front of the judge after you've pleand not guilty. You can state that the officer was confused about the speed you were travelling, for the officer was clearly confused about what day it the orginal court appearnce s/b.
Admit to speeding but state you were going less than the office wrote the ticket for.
Use the word confused, not wrong, saying the officer is confused won't piss the judge off.
I used this same type defence when I was popped for a 120mph in a 55mph. In my case the office wrote the wrong time on the ticket, were I had a gas recipt showing I was else at the time of said ticket.

The best os when you can't understand your own handwriting.... I've given a few not guilty's that way... It's like, screw it judge, I can't figure out what I wrote...

I'd tell the judge, "How can he accurately tell how fast I was going, if he can't even write correct date" Usually they will throw it out
