Little Rock - 501 Xtremes

I am president of a newly formed sportbike club in Little Rock, AR - The 501 Xtremes.

We are a group of riders that are generally older (for the sportbike crowd). We range from early twenties to late forties.

We are of varying experience but rather have one thing in common: we like to have fun but we AREN'T stupid about it.

We have club gatherings on Wednesday nights. We meet at the Flying Saucer in the River District at 9 pm for BS and bench racing/smack talk. Then we'll usually head out and ride for a short bit around town - maybe even drag race for fun.

On the weekends we'll do a loop through Arkansas that's generally 200-400 miles - depending on how frisky we feel.

We encourage safety but that doesn't mean we don't let 'em walk when the road allows it. Don't ride with us if you don't have a helmet and can't keep your self under control when you need to. Don't even talk to me if you are a squid without insurance and a drivers license.

No one will make fun of you if you are slow. No one will make fun of you if you don't ride a wheelie for two miles. We stop at intersections for everyone to catch up and talk no smack to those bringing up the rear. Crashing is not fun by any means and we do NOT encourage anyone to ride above thier abilities by keep up with the guy in front of you. Public stunts are not encouraged (but not censored either, if you are reasonable about it).

I invite all on this board to come out and meet us any Wednesday you choose. Also email me for rides when we get together on Saturdays and Sundays.

Hope to see you.

Hey John! I'll try to make it tonight.

Just a little note for you guys who don't know John personally, he's a pretty good rider and a damned good guy. Has nice leathers too!

Re: Little Rock - 501 Xtremes

Thanks, Bob. My leathers do make me look like either:

A. Darth Vader (LUUUUUke. I'm your FAAAAAATher!)
B. A German porn star making sheister flicks

Chris, to answer your questions:

No affiliation with another club. Yeah, area code thing.

Since we are a new club we are working on a web site right now.

We have roughly ten members that pay dues. We have two classes of members: Charter members and riders. I'll discuss in more detail Wednesday night.

Bob, hope to see that funky Triumph!

I was impressed with 501 Extremes. That was a terrific run.
Glad Michael talked me into it. Probably have to buy new jungleboots before the next one if I am gonna chase The Man in Black. Did you ever see that movie...People Under the Stairs or Pulp Fiction.......ha ha.

Great riding by all. No wrecks, no tickets, awesome weather and excellent twisties. Count me in for future endeavors.

Re: Little Rock - 501 Xtremes

That was a great ride. Although I'm slow I'll blame it on the bike.......and me, but thats okay. I think I was a little under horsepowered. I need someone with another SV on the ride.

Still trying to build confidence in the corners, but hey with only 3500 miles on my belt I'll chaulk it up to inexperience and wanting to live

By my count we had Johnathon(12r), Sherman(12r), Brian(r1), Chris(f4), Jeremy(SL1000), Michael(FZ1), Rob(650S), and myself (Sprint RS). Am I missing anyone?

Re: Little Rock - 501 Xtremes

Jeremy on the Aprilia Falco was another one.

I'll have to say you guys are a good bunch of guys to ride with. I didn't have to worry about anyone riding my back tire in a curve or other stupid moves.

Well, we'll need to keep a leash on Brian. Anyone know where we can get a restrictor plate for that R1?

Any of you guys are welcome to ride with us any time.

C'mon out to the Saucer Wednesday night!

2tired, don't worry about being 'slow' - you need to ride at your own pace. Everyone is different. Besides, you won't need to keep bail money holed away somewhere and you'll have a greater chance of keeping your bones and skin intact.
